WHERE IN TARANAKI DO THEY COME FROM?
Mataimaroke farm is located in the hill country 20km east of Eltham and Hawera. It has been farmed as a family business by the Collier and Beard families for over four generations.
The 1400ha farm sits adjacent to the picturesque Lake Rotorangi on the farms northern boundary. The farms unique feature is a 250ha forest of mature native bush that has been protected under QEII covenant for over 30 years and contains regionally significant flora and fauna. ‘The Bush Flat’ name comes from the area that lies at the foot of this QEII block and is where our Prime Angus Steers are finished.
Our Angus Steers are born on the hills and spend three years roaming through the steeper hill country on the farm. Fit, healthy animals grown slowly on the hills and finished on quality grass and clover pastures is a great way to gain consistency and maximise the quality of the final product.
The final step is to decide on your cut of choice and then have it cooked just the way you like it.
